Math and Science in a Friendship Thematic Unit?
August 302009
I am doing a thematic unit on friendship–I have come up with several activities for social studies, and one or two for math but I need to have five lesson plans in each of those areas. Do you have any ideas of lessons I could use in math and science that would fit into my frienship theme? It is for the kindergarten level.
For math - maybe sharing? I realize that fractions are a bit much for that age group, but they can probably grasp the idea of two people sharing equal halves of something.
As far as science goes, maybe you could talk about the ways science has made it easier for people to keep in touch with their friends. Cell phones, email, planes - all the results of science.
